- April 2009
After a very successful launch at ExCeL London, Gordon Ramsay's Taste of Christmas show will be increasing in size and number of restaurants for its return in 2009. Research carried out indicated that 88% of visitors enjoyed the show and 84% would recommend the show to friends and family. With these positive foundations, Taste of Christmas is set for considerable growth and will add further features to deliver the 'Taste' experience seen elsewhere in the calendar.
Commenting on the success of show, Andrew Evans, MD Brand Events (UK) said "Gordon Ramsay's Taste of Christmas was a fantastic launch and a welcomed addition to the Taste brand. We worked very closely with ExCeL London and this partnership was instrumental in the success of the show. Nearly half of our visitors had not been to a major event in the last two years. ExCeL's location helped us to attract a whole new audience to the Taste brand and one from a high spending demographic. This is great for the sponsors and exhibitors and we will be working closely with ExCel to make the show even bigger and better this year."
David Pegler, MD, ExCeL London said: "We were delighted with the success of Gordon Ramsay's Taste of Christmas launch show. The trends that Taste of Christmas saw in terms of visitor profile and attracting a new audience are typical of what many of our organisers find when they move or launch a show at ExCeL. We continue to work with all our organisers to ensure they get the best support to deliver the right quality of visitors."
Pegler continued: "The MCN Motorcycle Show at the end of January presented more of the premium manufacturers than any year previously and welcomed a number of new major manufacturers. They received huge praise from their exhibitors for their third show last month, many reporting that they had a substantial increase in sales in bookings, which is even more crucial to them in the current climate. These kind of partnerships are increasingly important if our industry and clients are to succeed and grow."
