Key Facts
- ExCeL London 's most successful consumer launch show ever with over 40,000 visitors.
- Over 400 exhibiting companies in 2005 increasing to 600 in 2006.
- In 2006 Grand Designs Live will increase space to take the entire South Hall (32,500m2 )- an increase of 4,000m2 making the exhibition 19% bigger.
- 2006 will promise more exhibitors, an updated seminar programme and more live demonstrations and information clinics in each section of the show.
Grand Designs Live Smashes Records
The first-ever Grand Designs Live smashed records by becoming ExCeL London's 'most successful launch show', with over 40,000 visitors during the three open days (Friday 10th - Sunday 12th June 2005 ).
Organising company Media 10 is overwhelmed by the response to the show.
Lee Newton, Media 10's Managing Director, said:"We knew Grand Designs Live would be an exhibition unlike any other, offering a unique mix of exhibitors and live events, but we are very excited by how well received it's been by visitors and exhibitors alike. We are already looking forward to next year's show."
Kevin McCloud, writer and presenter for Grand Designs the TV show, was onsite throughout the three days giving advice, workshops and seminars. Kevin says, "I've had a busy few days but at the same time, I've felt extremely relaxed.
The whole show had a great vibe and nowhere else would you have found such a mix of architecture, building, design and furnishings,as well as seminars, lectures, live demonstrations and clinics.I'm very proud of the success of Grand Designs Live at ExCeL London."
The vision for the exhibition was to create an event that celebrates creativity, ingenuity, determination and aspiration. Grand Designs Live has exceeded expectations by doing more than just that - it has given thousands of people real inspiration for their Grand Design, however big or small.

- The German HUF team completing their challenge of building a HUF HAUS in three days, ahead of schedule.
- Beautifully designed kitchens created by Antony Worral Thompson, Brian Turner and John Burton Race.
- Diarmuid Gavin's serene Never Ending Garden.
- The architectural splendour of MASCo's Grand Salvage feature.
- The artistic labyrinth of coloured tunnels by Colourscape.
