To cope with the increase in exhibitions business, ExCeL London has recruited a new Senior Account Manager in the Exhibitions Sales Division.

Patrick McLaughlin started his career at Reed as Exhibitions Manager and then after three years moved to Clarion Events to work on the London Motor Show and Top Drawer Spring. Following on at Clarion, Patrick moved to become Exhibition Director on Home & Gift, Harrogate. Prior to joining ExCeL London Patrick worked at Quest Media on business development for the National Business Awards.

Commenting on his appointment, Patrick McLaughlin said: "ExCeL London is easily the most exciting venue in the UK right now and I am thrilled to be part of its team. More and more events are launching or transferring here and I look forward to calling on my experience as an exhibition organiser in helping make ExCeL London a real destination venue."

Kevin Murphy, ExCeL London's Deputy CEO & MD Exhibitions, said: "In the last year we have seen 135% increase in contracted events and to reflect this increase we needed to expand our team. Patrick's experience in the exhibition's market will be invaluable to both the venue and to our clients and is a further demonstration of ExCeL London's intention to provide professional, first-class service to the exhibitions industry."
