Seven New Shows Bring ExCeL London's Total to 25 for Last Three Months!

London - October 2004 - In the last two months ExCeL London has signed up seven new shows, bringing the total of new show signings in the last three months to twenty-five. The seven new shows include:

  • London Book Fair - The London Book Fair has grown rapidly over the last 10 years to become the leading Spring Forum for the Global Publishing community. From 2006, the London Book Fair will be moving its home to ExCeL. Reed Exhibitions see the move to ExCeL, an internationally recognised world-class environment as crucial in the further development of the event.

  • London Golf Show - The London Golf Show 2005 is the UK's biggest golf retail event, showing everything available in golf. Visitors will be able to try out the latest golf equipment, meet with the pros, get some great deals on clubs and clothes, and see whole world of golfing destinations and holidays.

  • A Place in The Sun Live - Following on from the success of Channel 4's A Place in the Sun, the exhibition A Place in the Sun Live! is being launched at ExCeL, London in 2005, to bring this fantastic brand directly to its audience.

  • SkillCity 2005 - SkillCity is the UK's largest and most exciting interactive skills experience. It will be held at ExCeL London from 6-9th July 2005. The four-day event is designed to raise the status of vocational learning across the UK, by showcasing a vast variety of skills including everything from IT and carpentry, to hairdressing and television production.

    John Attree, Chief Executive of SkillCity at London First, says: "The right venue is crucial when bringing an event on the scale of SkillCity to the capital for the first time. We will be hosting 120,000 young people over four days and offering an unprecedented series of interactive features on a sizeable scale.

  • Grand Designs Live - Grand Designs Live! will take place for the first time next June - 10th - 11th, 12th 2005 at ExCeL. The aim of the exhibition is to take the popular TV series, Grand Designs, and create a vibrant 3-D live environment that lives up to the Grand Designs brand and its values. The exhibition will provide visitors with products, information, services and advice for their very own Grand Design - whether it be a total self-build project, a refurbishment of an existing building or simply the bringing up-to-date of part of their existing home.
  • Wireless Connectivity World - WiCon World is the World's largest showcase of wireless connectivity solutions. It is the only event which covers all the technologies in the wireless connectivity market.
  • Charityfair - Charityfair is the largest learning and exhibition event for the UK voluntary and charity sector.Salon International have also increased their space from 2006 by 42% after signing a new three-year deal after once again increasing their visitor numbers.

    Commenting on the success of his sales team and recent signings, Kevin Murphy, ExCeL's Deputy Chief Executive said: "2004 has been a fantastic year for ExCeL London London and the exhibition sales team. We are now London's premier exhibition centre with 9 out of the top 10 London events and our organisers are seeing the results from bringing their shows here, whether consumer or trade. The Boat Show saw a 48% increase in visitors after its move to ExCeL London London and repeats shows see on average a 32% increase in visitors. We have worked tirelessly in the last 18 months to establish ExCeL London London and of course it has the added benefit of being the world's global capital. The reaction from the market to our offering shows in our ever burgeoning diaries and we will be announcing even more major new signings before the end of the year."
