ExCeL London Supports London's Olympic Bid

Thursday Jan 15, 2004

On January 15th, London officially enters the Olympic bid to host the games in 2012. As one of the proposed venues to host a number of events, ExCeL London is pledging its support over the weekend 16th-18th January at the Schroders London Boat Show.

ExCeL London has had 15,000 car and boat sticker specifically designed to hand out to visitors at the Boat Show to pledge their support to London. Stickers will also be given to black cabs waiting at the taxi rank over the weekend.

Stickers are free of charge and will be given out to visitors over what is expected to be, the busiest ever weekend at the Boat Show.

Says ExCeL London Chief Executive, Jamie Buchan: "As one of the proposed venues to host events at the Olympic Games, we wanted to utilise the massive opportunity we have at the Schroders London Boat Show to reach over 50,000 people. This is just one of the projects we have planned to help support London's bid. We
are hoping that our visitors will be just as enthusiastic about the possibility of London hosting the 2012 Olympic Games as we are."
