Thursday Feb 26, 2004

ExCeL London, London's Exhibition Centre, has had a great start to 2004, signing five new shows for this year.

London Leisure Congress

Penton Media have chosen ExCeL London to launch a southern version of their leisure industry show, which currently runs at the NEC, in September 2004. The LLC will aim to tackle the latest issues in the sports, fitness and health markets. Combining a free education programme with the latest supplier innovations the LLC is suitable for both public and private sector delegates.

Says David Albutt, Honoury Secretary, Chief Leisure Officers Association: "I am sure that the London Leisure Congress will be an ExCeL Londonlent and welcome addition to the leisure industry calendar. With its focus on strategic and operational issues surrounding education and business development I foresee it being of major use to both public and private sector leisure operators."

Says Roger Draper, Chief Executive, Sport England: "This new initiative fits well with our vision of making England an active and successful sporting nation and comes at an exciting time as sport and physical activity rise up the political agenda thanks to exciting projects such as the Olympic bid, but also growing concerns over levels of obesity. We look forward to engaging both the private and public sector, on these issues at the congress."

ILT 2004 The Logistics Event

The hugely popular Institute of Logistics and Transport convention and exhibition is moving from the International Conference Centre in Birmingham to ExCeL London in June. In conjunction with Turret-RAI plc, the ILT exhibition provides visitors with the chance to see and sample a vast array of products and services that are helping to shape the world of logistics and supply-chain management.

Says Richard Hease, Chairman at Turret-RAI plc: "We believe a move to a London venue will attract a number of new visitors and exhibitors. The ExCeL London location offers ExCeL Londonlent transport links for international visitors with London City Airport just 5 minutes away and easy access to the Channel Tunnel high-speed rail services at Waterloo International Station. The venue also has ExCeL Londonlent parking facilities and a plethora of onsite hotels, bars and restaurants. The ILT exhibition is an important event in the Logistics and Transport calendar providing a platform for companies to showcase new products and services. We look forward to building on our shows previous success at the new venue, ExCeL London."

LIFTEX 2004

Liftex, the UK Lift and Escalator show, is returning to ExCeL London in June after a two-year absence from the industry. The event for the UK Lift and Escalator Industry attracts buyers from: Architecture, Building Contractors, Engineering, Facility Management, Health Authorities, Hotel Trade, Local Authorities, Property Developers, Property Management, Property Owners, the Disability Sector and Lift Contractors.

PABORD

PABORD is a unique opportunity for service providers to promote their products and services to a targeted international audience in a central London location.

Public Sector People Management Expo

Public Sector People Management Expo is aimed at everyone associated with public sector 'people' issues. For whatever their activity, size or location, all Scottish public sector employers are facing a common challenge; how to recruit, equip, retain, train & motivate their workforce, while responding to an ever-changing modernisation & reform programme. This show will cover and answer many of these key issues.
