On September 1st 2004, ExCeL London launched an industry first, delivering a revolutionary concept to the exhibition industry. A dedicated 'convenience store' now replaces retail stand catering and offers exhibitors an exclusive facility that retails staple goods at high-street prices.
Run by Whistlestop and SSP Specialist Brands, the new convenience store was opened in direct response to customer feedback. Both organisers and exhibitors wanted a more cost-effective way of purchasing stand catering.
This revolutionary facility means that exhibitors and organisers will now be able to pre-order and purchase stand catering items direct from the store, located onsite at ExCeL London.Says ExCeL London CEO, Jamie Buchan: "The new convenience store is fantastic news for our exhibitors and organisers. As well as offering competitive prices, it will make life simpler with easy to manage packages from sandwich platters, coffee machines to orange juice and disposable items, long and short-term ordering, last-minute pick-up and a porter facility. ExCeL London continues to search for new ways to raise industry standards and respond to feedback with innovative initiatives. We are confident that our organisers will welcome this move and are already receiving positive feedback."
The new facility is located downstairs on Level 0, within the Boulevard at ExCeL London. The menu can be downloaded from the ExCeL London website and orders can be placed by phone, fax or email with a credit card. Any bespoke items not available from Whistlestop, such as canapés, are available through Payne and Gunter.
