Homebuyer Shows Grows By 20%

Sunday Jan 25, 2004

The Homebuyer Show, taking place at ExCeL London from 5th-7th March, has increased their floor space 20% from 2003. Much of this growth is due to the increase in the overseas property section of the show, which has grown 45% from last year.

Another compelling reason that the Homebuyer Show is so successful is the extensive seminar programme. This year the show is adding another theatre, so that there are 5 theatres in total, offering 80 seminars, making it the largest programme of seminars at any event in any industry in the UK.

Last year the Evening Standard sponsored the Homebuyer Show, but in 2004 the show has decided to be stand alone, allowing more flexibility and non-exclusivity. This has led to new partnerships with the Independent, LBC Radio and Classic FM.

Says Nick Clark, Managing Director, Homebuyer Show: "We were particularly pleased with the outcome of the Boat Show, which has really placed ExCeL London firmly on the consumer map. Coming over to ExCeL London in the East Side of London has also helped open up new opportunities for us. Many of our new clients are local and much of this is due to the regeneration of the Docklands and Thames Gateway."

Says ExCeL London Chief Executive, Jamie Buchan: "The success of Homebuyer Events in 2003 ensured that they firmly staked their claim in the marketplace. With a third of all construction in London taking place in our area and the potential of hosting the 2012 Olympics, it is no surprise that this type of event is so successful here.
In fact, London's Eastside is Europe's most rapidly growing region, covering over 708km2 - the size of Tokyo City and with thousands of new homes and jobs being created in the area, this type of show will only go from strength to strength."
