The Mayor of London, Boris Johnson is to formally announce the commencement of building work on the next phase of development at ExCeL London by laying a commemorative foundation stone on 7 October.

Sir David Arculus has had a long and varied career in the media and exhibition industries including Emap and Clarion. As Group Managing Director of Emap he took the company into both Business to Business and the Business to Consumer Sector and was involved in the development and expansion of shows such as the Spring Fair and BETT. Subsequently he chaired Miller Freeman (now CMP) and has also served time as Chairman of Earls Court and Olympia.


ExCeL London looks to build US market

ExCeL London has set its sights on expanding its US market, following the appointment of international marketing company Marketing Challenge International (MCI) to represent the venue to prospective corporate and association clients across the US; with a focus upon the North American market.


100,000 covers served up at ExCeL London

ExCeL London hosted one of the largest events of its kind last week with the arrival of over 85,000 guests to The Golden Jubilee of His Highness Prince Karim Aga Khan (2nd - 6th July). In an outstanding co-operative effort between the event organiser, ExCeL London, and Leith’s Catering, the project team undertook the production of 100,000 covers over the five days.
