Aloft Hotels Leap into London for 2012

George P Johnson to create launch event for London's first ICC
Leading experience marketing agency George P Johnson (GPJ) is to produce the launch event to mark the opening of London's first International Convention Centre at ExCeL London.
The event on Thursday 24th June 2010 will be designed to showcase all of the facilities at ICC London ExCeL. It will include an agency forum, a press briefing with Mayor of London Boris Johnson, lunch in the ICC Capital Suite and culminate in an event in the ICC Auditorium.
Events at London ICC to Generate £100 Million Economic Boost
ExCeL London has announced £6 million worth of confirmed events business after being named as London’s first ICC less than six months ago. Through delegate spend, the wins will generate an estimated £50 million economic boost for the city, with a further £50 million benefit to come from pending contracts.
Enquiries have been high ahead of the official opening of ICC London ExCeL in May this year, with events being booked at the venue right up until 2015. An independent study by Grant Thornton estimated the expansion of ExCeL London will bring in total around £1.6 billion economic input to London by 2011.
ExCeL London Brings Audio Visual Services In-House
ExCeL today announced that it has in-sourced the audio visual services provision for the venue and created a new in house team, ExCeL London Audio Visual Services.
In addition, ExCel London has signed a new five year services agreement with Blitz Communications Ltd to provide support to the in house team in regards to equipment hire and services. James Mark commented, "Blitz have been an ExCeL service partner for a number of years and have made a fantastic contribution to the business. I am delighted that this relationship will continue to develop under the new arrangement."
Mayor Backs 'London's First International Convention Centre'
The debate for a London International Convention Centre (ICC) was finally put to bed today with the launch of ICC London ExCeL, the official identity of the venue's £165 million Phase II investment by owners ADNEC (Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company), with endorsement from Visit London, the GLA and Mayor of London, Boris Johnson.
The launch coincided with a new commitment from the city to attract more large scale conference and events with ICC London ExCeL representing the first purpose built large scale convention venue in London. ICC London ExCeL is set to open in May 2010, on time and on budget.
