The Leven
The 'Leven', as this classic Dutch motor barge is more affectionately known, was built in 1928 in Woubrugge in Holland.
Translated from the Dutch her name means 'Life is a Struggle', and for forty years of her arduous life she hauled tons of grain from the flatlands to Rotterdam and Amsterdam. In 1985 the 'Leven' was brought under her own steam to West India Docks in London's Docklands by her present owners, where they painstakingly converted her into an exclusive function venue, maintaining the vessel's full operational status.
The 'Leven' offers a unique location in which to host business lunches or celebration dinners.
The emphasis is on quality of both food and service.
