For the first time in 20 years, the British Insurance Brokers' Association (BIBA) chose London as the destination for its annual conference and exhibition. The three-day event, entitled Achieving Excellence, was designed as an opportunity for members to meet, socialise and share knowledge as well as hear from top speakers from the industry.
The European Association of Geoscientists & Engineers (EAGE) held its Annual Conference and Exhibition in London for the first time this June. Never before in the event's 69 year history had the EAGE chosen London as the destination. But the decision this year proved to be right as attendance figures soared to 6300, 25% higher than any other previous destination.
The European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons conference took place at ExCeL London between 9th – 13th September 2006. Founded in 1991, the ESCRS is Europe's leading organisation for cataract and refractive surgeons and is at the forefront of developments in anterior segment surgery. The society currently has 4,000 members from over 90 different countries worldwide and offers a unique forum for discussion and learning, ensuring international expertise is shared by ophthalmologists all over Europe.
Hillsong Church is a Pentecostal Christian church headquartered in Sydney, Australia. Its annual conference – known as the Hillsong Conference – grew up around the musical ministry of the church, with the primary aim of teaching and training Christian musicians. The UK branch, Hillsong Church London, was established in its current form in 2000.
ExCeL London, was chosen by the Music & Events Division of Emap Performance to stage the inaugural Kiss Awards – an inspirational, creative and star studded awards ceremony that reflected the essence of Kiss and induced a young, energetic vibe. The Kiss Awards was organised by head of events, Francesca Ambrosini, with live performances from Sean Paul, Toni Braxton, Angie Stone, Craig David and Ms Dynamite.
Demonstrating that London is capable of staging large, complex international events, ExCeL London hosted the European Academy Of Dermatology and Venereology's (EADV) 14th Congress. Attracting over 9,000 international delegates, this was the first time that the congress was held in London, and is one of the largest conferences to be held in the capital to date.
The British International Motor Show (BIMS) – the biggest live event to be held at ExCeL London (18th – 30th July 2006) – was organised by imie, a joint venture between professional exhibition organisers Single Market Events and London Event Co.
Award winning venue, ExCeL London, was chosen by the Department of Health for the second time to host its annual national event – NHS Live. 1,500 delegates attended the one-day event, which was designed to be an inspiring, celebratory, networking occasion.
The Philips 'Simplicity' event took place at ExCeL London between 2nd - 5th October 2006, and was produced by Lodestar Events part of the TFI group, a specialist in the creation of intelligent live communication.
One of the UK's leading exhibition, conference and event venues, ExCeL London, was chosen by Tesco as the venue to host its bi-annual company conference, celebrating its success and future vision. 2,200 delegates from around the world attended the one-day event, which was organised by Belinda Murdy, events manager of Tesco. |
