Bringing together the best of European Dermatology and Venereology, this annual congress is aimed at an international audience, addressing the issues facing Europe including the increasing pressures on dermatological services and rise in sexually transmitted diseases including HIV.
A venue for the 14th congress was sought that could accommodate the event's size and complexity, particularly the high volume of delegates anticipated. Moreover, the venue needed to present the right image for the event.

The event occupied over 25,000 sq m of ExCeL London's multi-purpose space, with an exhibition running alongside plenary session areas, workshops, lunchtime sessions and satellite symposia.
- Results
According to Marilyn Benham, Chief Executive Office of the British Association of Dermatologists, "ExCeL London is the capital's only venue that could provide all the conference and exhibition space we needed to meet the high standards that our international delegates now expect. In terms of design and technical support it can compete with the best European centres and I believe the facilities offered by ExCeL London were a key factor in us being able to win the bid to bring the EADV to London."
