Client - British Insurance Brokers' Association (BIBA)
- Event - British Insurance Brokers' Association Conference & Exhibition
- Delegate numbers - 3,200 (60% increase on previous event)
- Requirements
BIBA needed a suitable venue to host its annual event which was designed as an opportunity for members to meet, socialise and share knowledge as well as hear from top speakers from the industry.
Delegates would be coming from the City as well as all over the UK, so a venue with good transport links was imperative.
- Event Solution
The main sessions were held in a specially constructed auditorium in ExCeL London's Event Halls. The exhibition and catering area were in adjoining Halls with smaller seminars taking place in the Platinum Suite.
A number of delegates took advantage of the fast transport connections and travelled to the conference using value-for-money day passes.
The social aspect of the conference is historically a highlight and this year was no exception. With the delegates staying on the ExCeL London campus, social events were held in venues within 30 minutes travel – a dinner and private recital at St Paul's Cathedral, an informal ‘street party' at Leadenhall Market and a black tie dinner at the Brewery.
- Results
The event was extremely well attended with a 60% increase compared to the previous event. The venue and associated hotels and social venues provided the ideal platform for delegates to exchange ideas and socialise.
"We wanted to bring the event to London but we needed a venue that met our somewhat complex brief: an accessible location close to the City, a large number of hotel rooms, excellent transport links and flexible event space to cater for three simultaneous conference sessions." Eric Galbraith, Chief Executive of BIBA
